My First SAK

I’ve dreamed quite long time to own a Swiss Army Knife (SAK). One of the main reason it took me long time to get one is there’re so many to choose from and the other reason is because it’s quite expensive compared to Chinese made one available at dollar store.

There’s actually a model that I really sought after, which is Victorinox Cybertool 34 but It’s hard to find here in Indonesia. Lucky for me Bhinneka.com held a promotion celebrating Hari Belanja Online Nasional (National Online Shopping Day) which is marketing term for a certain week where all online retailer offer promotions and discounts to attract buyer, call it Indonesia’s very own Cyber Monday.

I bought a Black Victorinox Classic which supposedly the most common and base model. I must admit I’m a bit surprised how small it was when I received it.

However I find it handy since I can attach it as a keyring and I’ll never notice it in my pocket. I might need to buy larger SAK though, if my adventure days ever seen the light of day. Meanwhile this is perfect for my daily EDC which consists 15 minutes of scooter ride, 1 hour of train ride, 8 hours or more :) at work and back again, 1 hour of train ride, 15 minutes of scooter ride (Yeah, I know it sound boring. But I already grow to enjoy it).

So far I’ve used this moderately, mainly to open mail or package, cut a paper or coffee sachets and pull a hair with tweezers.

Cost : 99.000 IDR (usual price 160.000 IDR).
Ownership date : 19 December 2014
